Seminole Sunday Sauce — May 24, 2026: FSU Men’s Golf Earns Spot in NCAA Championships
For the sixth straight NCAA Championships, Florida State men’s golf will be part of the field. It didn’t come easy, but the Seminoles clinched the berth on Wednesday with a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Columbus Regional.
With the top five teams advancing, FSU found itself a stroke behind Long Beach State for the fifth and final qualifying spot more than halfway through Wednesday’s final round. The Seminoles, however, finished strong. FSU finished at 31-over par for the 3-day regional.
While the Seminoles came on late, Long Beach State faltered to seventh. FSU finished six strokes better than sixth-place Utah.
Leading the way for FSU was Jack Whaley, who finished tied for seventh overall at 4-over par. FSU’s Jack Bigham and Wilmer Edero finished tied for 23rd at 9-over par.
Advancing with FSU were Florida, Stanford, Memphis and Arizona State. The NCAA Championships take place in Carlsbad, Calif. and begin on Friday.
