Seminole Sunday Sauce — April 5, 2026: Alameda Gets 1,000th Career Win
Florida State softball will celebrate Easter as the owners of the longest winning streak in the country. The Seminoles ran their winning streak to 24 games, thanks to a 4-0 week.
The week featured a bit of history. As the Seminoles completed the 3-game sweep of Clemson on Sunday with a 7-3 win, head coach Lonni Alameda hit quadruple digits with her 1,000th career win as a head coach. She became the 12th active head coach to reach that mark.
As for the game itself, the story was Isa Torres. Torres homered twice, going 3-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored. Anna Hinde also plated a pair of runs in the win. A 2-run homer for Julia Knowler in the seventh was among the few highlights for Clemson.
FSU returned home on Thursday and topped Notre Dame to open a 3-game series, 7-2. Torres powered the offense, finishing 4-for-4 with two RBIs and a home run shy of the cycle. Hayley Griggs belted a 2-run home run in the fifth to cap the scoring for the Seminoles. A pair of solo home runs from Lily Hagan accounted for all the scoring for the Fighting Irish.
FSU clinched the series over Notre Dame with a 10-0 run-rule victory in five innings on Friday night. Ashtyn Danley shined in the circle and at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored at the dish while allowing just a hit in four shutout innings. Griggs finished 2-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Torres and Kennedy Harp each homered in the victory.
On Saturday, FSU picked up its biggest comeback win of the season. The Seminoles scored eight unanswered runs in an 8-4 victory.
Notre Dame grabbed the early lead with four runs in the second, highlighted by Tenley Sweet’s 3-run home run. FSU was able to claw back. After Anna Hinde’s 2-run single highlighted a 3-run third inning for the Seminoles, Jaysoni Beachum’s RBI triple scored Torres to tie the game, 4-4.
Harp put FSU ahead for good with an RBI double in the fifth to score Danley. In the sixth, Hinde provided the insurance with a 2-run single before Harp capped the scoring with an RBI single of her own.
FSU has not lost since Feb. 21, but things will get a bit more difficult this week. The Seminoles will head west to take on Santa Clara on Wednesday before opening a 3-game series with Stanford on Friday.
