Seminole Sunday Sauce — Sept. 7, 2025: FSU Ties Program Record with 74-Point Win vs. East Texas A&M
Coming off a monumental season-opening win over Alabama and with heavy hearts following the shooting that left linebacker Ethan Pritchard critically injured, Florida State football came out firing on all cylinders on Saturday. The 14th-ranked Seminoles tied a program record for largest margin of victory with a 77-3 rout of East Texas A&M at Doak Campbell Stadium.
FSU finished with 729 yards of offense and scored touchdowns on each of its first 10 possessions. Quarterback Tommy Castellanos passed for 237 yards and three touchdowns, including two to Duce Robinson. Running back Gavin Sawchuk scored three touchdowns — two rushing and one receiving.
In total, seven different FSU players scored a touchdown. In addition to Castellanos, Kevin Sperry and Brock Glenn also threw touchdown passes. Jerry Wilson and Earl Little each had interceptions for the FSU defense. As a whole, the Seminoles finished with nine tackles for loss. East Texas A&M didn’t break up the shutout until it settled for a field goal with less than 10 minutes remaining.
With the win, FSU equaled last season’s win total and are now 2-0 for the third time in four years. The Seminoles will be idle next week before remaining home to take on Kent State.
