Seminole Sunday Sauce — Sept. 21, 2025: FSU Football Stays Perfect with Rout of Kent State

The train kept rolling for No. 7 Florida State football on Saturday. The Seminoles remained undefeated and eclipsed last season’s win total with a 66-10 rout of Kent State.

For the second straight game, FSU didn’t punt. Tommy Castellanos was efficient, going 10-for-13 passing for 205 yards. He added 54 yards on the ground and two touchdowns but did throw his first interception of the season.

Gavin Sawchuk (11 carries, 97 yards) and Samuel Singleton Jr. (10 carries, 86 yards) each added a pair of rushing touchdowns. Micahi Danzy caught two passes for 112 yards to go with a 64-yard touchdown run. FSU rushed for a program record 498 yards.

The lone Kent State touchdown came in the opening quarter on a 75-yard touchdown pass from Dru DeShields to Dashawn Martin. Jerry Wilson picked off his second pass of the season for the FSU defense.

The scariest moment for FSU came in the second quarter as Castellanos limped off the field at the time of a weather delay. He did not return to the game but was seen running onto the sideline after receiving medical attention.

Now 3-0, FSU will hit the road for the first time as it begins ACC play. The Seminoles have a short week as they travel to Charlottesville to face Virginia.
