Seminole Sunday Sauce — Dec. 28, 2025: Four Former Seminoles Make NFL Pro Bowl

The college football season for Florida State football ended on a low note, but several former Seminoles playing at the highest level continue to shine. Earlier this week, four former FSU standouts were named to the Pro Bowl.

Outside linebacker Brian Burns, a first-team All-ACC performer for FSU in 2018, was named to his third Pro Bowl and first as a member of the New York Giants. Burns ranks second in the NFL with 15 sacks.

Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James Jr. made his fifth Pro Bowl. Now in his eighth season in the league, James has 86 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions and a forced fumble this season for the playoff-bound Chargers.

In his first season with the Pittsburgh Steelers and 10th in the NFL, defensive back Jalen Ramsey is headed for an eighth Pro Bowl. Ramsey has 77 tackles, three sacks and an interception this year. A future Hall of Famer, Ramsey previously made Pro Bowls as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams and Miami Dolphins. A national champion at FSU in 2013, Ramsey left as a Consensus All-American following his junior year of 2015.

A 2-time All-ACC performer at FSU, edge rusher Jared Verse of the Rams is bound for his second Pro Bowl in as many NFL seasons. The Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2024, Verse has 6.5 sacks and three forced fumbles for Los Angeles this season.

With four selections, FSU was behind only Georgia, Notre Dame and Iowa when it came to Pro Bowl selections. The Pro Bowl Games take place on Feb. 3 near San Francisco.
