Seminole Sunday Sauce — Aug. 23, 2026: FSU Soccer Opens Season with Three Straight shutouts
After opening the season with a 4-0 shutout of Stetson, Florida State soccer has added two more shutout wins over in-state opponents. The No. 3 Seminoles were able to blank both Florida International and Florida Atlantic this week.
Following a second straight scoreless first half, Wrianna Hudson and Nyanya Touray scored goals 62 seconds apart in a 2-0 win over Florida International on Sunday. Anaiyah Robinson added an assist. In goal, Fernanda Mayrink finished with three saves in the contest in Miami.
In Thursday night’s home opener, FSU topped Florida Atlantic, 3-0. Tanner Strickland became the first FSU player to score in the first half this season with a goal in the 11th minute. Ryder Ajeto extended the lead to 2-0 in the second half with her first career goal. An own goal in the 83rd minute put the exclamation point on the win.
Sam Erbach finished with two assists in the home opener for FSU. The Seminoles dominated with an 18-2 edge in shots over the Owls.
Now 3-0 on the season, FSU will look to keep its streak of shutouts over in-state opponents alive on Sunday with a trip to Gainesville to take on rival Florida. That contest is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET and will air on the SEC Network.
