Seminole Sunday Sauce — Aug. 17, 2025: FSU Soccer Opens Season with 5-0 Shutout of Florida

The new athletics year for Florida State is underway. It doesn’t start much better than with a rivalry victory.

That’s what No. 3 FSU soccer accomplished on Thursday night. A pair of weather delays couldn’t slow the Seminoles down as they raced to a 5-0 victory.

FSU blew things open late in the first half with three goals in less than a 9-minute stretch with Heather Gilchrist accounting for the first two. Wrianna Hudson, Yuna McCormack and Peyton Nourse added goals in the win. Enasia Colon finished with two assists.

It was domination in favor of the Seminoles as FSU finished with 26 total shots to seven for Florida. In goal, Addie Todd finished with three saves.

For FSU, the victory was its eighth straight over the Gators in the rivalry with the last four coming by shutout. The 5-goal onslaught ties the Seminoles’ largest margin of victory in the series. They’ll remain home to take on Florida International on Sunday.
