Seminole Sunday Sauce — Dec. 7, 2025: FSU Soccer to Play for National Championship

Florida State soccer now sits one win away from its fifth national championship. The third-seeded Seminoles advanced to the title match with a 1-0 win over TCU in the College Cup on Friday night.

Scoreless for 72 minutes, Peyton McGovern delivered a beautiful cross to Wrianna Hudson. Hudson was able to get a foot on it and slip it past TCU goalkeeper Olivia Geller for the lone goal of the night.

FSU finished with 15 shots to seven for the Horned Frogs. FSU also held an 8-2 edge in shots on goal. MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist Jordynn Dudley led FSU with six shots.

Geller finished with seven saves for TCU, but the biggest stop of the night came from FSU’s Kate Ockene. With just seconds remaining, she deflected Seven Castain’s shot to preserve the win.

With the victory, FSU moves on to face No. 1 seed Stanford for the title on Monday. The Cardinal advanced with a 1-0 win over Duke in the other semifinal.

FSU rolled past Stanford 5-1 when the teams met for the national championship two years ago. The Cardinal won 2-1 in Tallahassee earlier this season to end FSU’s 33-match home unbeaten streak.
