Seminole Sunday Sauce — Sept. 13, 2026: FSU Women’s Golf Opens Season with Folds of Honor Victory
While Florida State’s football, volleyball and soccer programs got underway in August, Florida State women’s golf had no problem opening its season with a bang.
The Seminoles rallied to win the Folds of Honor Collegiate on Wednesday. FSU shot 3-under par as a team over the 3-day event in Michigan, beating second-place Texas A&M by just a single stroke.
While FSU won the team title, it also shared the individual crown. Haruhi Nakatani shot 6-under par for the tournament to finished tied with Duke Mia Hammond. Duke finished third — two strokes behind FSU.
Although Nakatani paced the Seminoles, it was far from a 1-woman shot. Sophia Fullbrook also collected a top-10 finish, placing ninth at 1-under par. FSU’s Louise Landgraf and Alexandra Gazzoli placed 18th and 25th, respectively.
On the men’s side, FSU had four players participate — not enough to qualify for the team title. The Seminoles, however, had some impressive showings. Shawn Coultoff led the way for the FSU, placing ninth at 4-under par.
With the first event out of the way for each of FSU’s two golf teams, neither will have to wait long for the second. The FSU women will be in Texas for the 2-day Jackson T. Stephens Cup, which begins on Monday. The FSU men will be in Olympia Fields in Illinois for three days, beginning on Friday.
